Jewelry - Sterling Silver Or Copper Sheet
Description
Sheet metal is really a plastic material: it stretches and moves like clay or pie crust when you pinch it. I "pinch" and stretch the metal when I hit it with a hammer as the leaf at the top which is a single piece of metal. The example in the lower left is the result of two folds one across the other. The wedge fold in the lower right results from folding in a vise at an angle and texturizing the area that is not in the vise. These are only 3 of hundreds of possibilities of adding dimension to a humble sheet of metal. Copper is the most fun to work in because it is still relatively cheap and highly malleable which allows for lots of experimentation.
